Why FLX exists
A $400,000 plate on $5 hardware.
Australians take number plates seriously. Heritage combinations trade for the price of houses. Signature plates are commissioned, collected and insured. Slimline, euro and JDM formats are chosen the way wheels are chosen — deliberately, as part of the build.
And then almost all of them get mounted with whatever was in the dealership drawer: rusting screws through the face, a warped plastic holder, a "universal" frame that fits everything approximately and nothing properly.
That gap is the entire reason FLX exists. We make the hardware that treats the plate like the asset it is — precision aluminium mounts, frames and conversion kits, built to the exact dimensions of each Australian plate format, designed to disappear so the plate does the talking.
The standard
Four rules we don't bend.
A 372mm slimline, a 456mm six-digit heritage plate and a 520mm euro are different objects. We build to each format's exact dimensions — which is why our range is organised by plate, not by "one size fits most."
Designed, cut and finished in Melbourne, Australia, from high-grade aluminium. When a fitment question comes in, the person answering is in the same building as the machines.
Your car already has factory mounting points. Our hardware is designed around them — no new holes in your car, nothing permanent, everything reversible.
Quality hardware shouldn't be a luxury purchase. We price so that doing it properly is the obvious choice, not the indulgent one.
The range
Every format. One standard of finish.
Brackets, frames, surrounds and signature conversion kits for heritage (organised by digit count), signature, slimline, standard, euro and JDM plates — with Victoria as home turf and the rest of the country rolling out format by format. The mission is simple to say and slow to do properly: hardware for every plate type in Australia.
The Plate Ledger
We track the market we build for.
Every week we publish verified Australian number plate auction results — every price all-in, hammer plus buyer's premium, with each house's fee structure documented. Not because we sell plates. Because our customers own them, and a company that makes hardware for six-figure plates should know exactly what six figures buys.
