QLD Q Plate Brackets & Mounting Solutions

Read the full guide

A Q plate isn't a number plate — it's an asset. Q plates are officially licensed recreations of Queensland's original registration plates, issued between 1921 and 1955: a fixed Q followed by one to six digits, white characters on black, each character individually cast and powder coated in aluminium. They're released through PPQ auctions with a Certificate of Authenticity, and low-digit combinations trade well into six figures.

That changes what a bracket is for. You're not tidying up a bumper — you're mounting something irreplaceable that should never be drilled, taped or trimmed to fit.

Sized by digit count. A Q plate's height stays constant while its width grows with every digit, so a 3-digit plate and a 6-digit plate need completely different mounts. Measure your plate rather than assuming — the FLX range covers 3, 4, 5 and 6 digit Q plates.

No drilling. No tape. No damage. FLX mounts are CNC-lasered from high-grade aluminium and fit your car's existing factory mounting points, holding the plate securely from behind. Nothing is drilled into the plate, nothing is adhered to its face, and the plate comes off intact whenever it moves to the next car. Black stainless hardware included.

FLX — Precision Built. Melbourne Made.
A Q plate is a licensed recreation of Queensland's first official registration plates, issued from 1921 to 1955 — a fixed Q followed by one to six digits, in white on black. They're sold through Personalised Plates Queensland's auction platform, come with a Certificate of Authenticity, and are cast in aluminium with individually formed characters rather than pressed like a modern plate.
Q plates share a common height, and the width increases with each additional digit — so the digit count determines the mount. Count the digits after the Q, then measure the plate to confirm before ordering. FLX covers 3, 4, 5 and 6 digit Q plates.
No. The plate is held from behind using your vehicle's existing factory mounting points. Nothing is drilled into the plate, nothing adhesive touches the face, and no material is removed. It comes off exactly as it went on — which matters when the plate is worth many times the car it's mounted to.
High-grade aluminium, CNC-lasered and finished in black. A cast heritage plate deserves better than a moulded plastic holder that flexes, rattles and lets the plate move against its own mounting points.
One bracket holds one plate. Queensland requires plates front and rear on cars, so a full set is two.
