TAS JDM Number Plate Brackets & Mounting Solutions

Built for the recess your car already has. A Tasmanian JDM plate measures 330mm wide by 165mm high — the authentic Japanese size, against a standard Australian plate at 372 x 134mm. Narrower and taller. That's the entire point: it drops into the bumper cut-out a Japanese import was designed around.

It solves a problem owners used to solve badly. Before JDM plates were available here, import owners fitting an oversized Australian plate either cut into the bumper or bent the plate to make it sit. Bending is the risky one — a plate that ends up obscured, defaced or illegible can attract a fine. A correctly sized plate and a mount cut to match removes both options.

Yours outright, with no annual fee. A Tasmanian JDM plate is $469 and TasPlates are bought outright — no yearly renewal, unlike some states where keeping the plate costs hundreds a year. They also carry a five-year warranty. That's a plate worth mounting properly rather than drilling into.

Aluminium, not plastic. FLX JDM mounts are CNC-lasered from high-grade aluminium and anodised black, cut to the 330 x 165mm Japanese format so the plate sits flat, square and tight to the car. They fit your vehicle's existing factory mounting points — nothing drilled into the plate, nothing drilled into the bumper — with black stainless hardware included.

330mm wide by 165mm high — the authentic Japanese plate size. That's narrower and taller than a standard Australian plate at 372 x 134mm, which is why it fits the bumper cut-out on a Japanese import.
A new JDM plate is $469. TasPlates are bought outright with no annual renewal fee, and they carry a five-year warranty. Some other states charge to keep the plate each year.
Because it can cost you. Bending a plate risks making it obscured, defaced or illegible, which can attract a fine. Cutting the bumper permanently damages the car. A JDM-sized plate in a matched mount avoids both.
Special Interest registered cars and motorbikes in Tasmania can display personalised plate styles. If you're running an SI-registered import, check the current style list with TasPlates before ordering.
No. FLX JDM mounts use your vehicle's existing factory mounting points. Nothing gets drilled into the plate or the panel — which matters on a $469 plate and on an import you're keeping original.
