NSW Slimline Number Plate Brackets & Mounting

Your front and rear plates aren't the same size. NSW is the exception in Australia. Where most states issue slimline at a single height, a NSW slim set runs shorter on the front than the rear — two plates, two different heights, on the same car.

That means two different brackets. Order a matching pair and one of them won't fit. It's the single most common mistake NSW owners make, and it's the reason a bracket sold as "Australian slimline" often isn't right for you.

Don't go by what other states call slimline. If you've seen slimline listed at 372 x 100mm, that's the size used everywhere except here. Mount a NSW plate in a bracket cut to another state's dimensions and you'll see the gap every time you walk up to the car. Measure both plates before ordering — horizontally and vertically, in millimetres.
